Der Mitte April 2016 herausgegebenen Wirtschaftsausblick des Internationalen W\u00e4hrungsfonds zeigte jedoch, dass die Volkswirtschaft S\u00fcd-Afrikas jetzt nur die drittgr\u00f6\u00dfte Volkswirtschaft nach Nigeria und dem neuen Silbermedaillengewinner \u00c4gypten ist.<\/p>\n<p>Ende 2015 wurde das Bruttoinlandsprodukt Nigerias auf 490 Milliarden US$, gefolgt von \u00c4gypten mit 324 Milliarden US$ und S\u00fcdafrika mit 313 Milliarden US$ gesch\u00e4tzt.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4gypten hat S\u00fcdafrika haupts\u00e4chlich wegen des Fallens seiner W\u00e4hrung, dem Rand, \u00fcberholt. Als Ergebnis fiel der der Dollar-Nennwert des Bruttoinlandprodukts S\u00fcdafrikas um durchschnittlich fast 7 % pro Jahr \u00fcber die letzten vier Jahre.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00fcdafrika bleibt jedoch die am weitesten entwickelte Volkwirtschaft des Kontinents und hat eine diversifiziertere Basis als jede andere auf dem Kontinent. Sie wird von der Weltbank als eine Ober-Mittelklasse-Einkommensvolkswirtschaft eingestuft \u2013\u00a0\u00a0 eines von lediglich vier L\u00e4ndern in Afrikas (neben Botswana, Gabun und
